Maryland Minimum Wage Increase for 2022

Here is some information about the Minimum Wagein Maryland over the next three years.

2022
The Maryland Minimum Wage law increased to $12.50/hour on Jan. 1, 2022 for employers with 15 employees or more. The Maryland Minimum Wage law increased to $12.20/hour for businesses with 14 employees or fewer on Jan. 1, 2022.

2023
According to the Maryland Department of Labor, the Maryland Minimum Wage law will increase to $13.25/hour on Jan. 1, 2023 for businesses with 15 employees or more and will increase to $14.00/hour on Jan. 1, 2024 for businesses with 15 employees or more

2024
The Maryland Minimum Wage law will increase to $12.80/hour on Jan. 1, 2023 for businesses with 14 employees or fewer and will increase to $13.40/hour on Jan. 1, 2024 for businesses with 14 employees or fewer.

Most employees must be paid the Maryland State Minimum Wage Rate. Employees under 18 years of age must earn at least 85 percent of the State Minimum Wage Rate.
