Victim Identified in Kingsville Fatal Crash

The female passenger who died in a fatal crash on Raphel Road in Kingsville Wednesday, May 1 has been positively identified as Samantha Jean Muehleisen (24) of the 600 block of Yorkshire Drive, 21040.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is continuing their investigation to determine the factors that contributed to this fatal crash. 

Police were called to Bradshaw Road around 7 p.m. when a Chrysler 300 traveling northbound on Raphel Road near the intersection of Bradshaw Road crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a BGE pole and then a tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire.

The driver and a female passenger in the vehicle both suffered life-threatening wounds and burn wounds during the crash. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene and has not yet been positively identified. The male driver was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

Police Continue Investigation into Weekend Shooting in Essex

Baltimore County Police continue to investigate a shooting in the 1100 block of Tace Drive in Essex that occurred just before midnight on Saturday.

Police located an adult male and an adult female victim upon their arrival, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Both were taken to area hospitals with life-threatening wounds. The suspect(s) fled prior to police arrival. The female victim died a few days later. She was identified as Jessica Holly Diotte, 27, of the 2100 block of Southorn Road in Middle River.

Early Morning Shooting in Middle River Injures Man

Baltimore County Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Middle River on Sunday, April 14.

The victim, 21, was shot once in the upper body as he was walking on Midego Drive near Banca Place around 2 a.m. Witnesses heard the shooting and found the victim lying on the ground suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of the shooting is asked to contact police by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Police Locate, Arrest Barricaded Burglar in Attic of Essex Home

Police discovered a burglar hiding in the attic of a home in Essex on Thursday, April 4 after a lengthy barricade situation.

Officers were initially dispatched to the home in the 900 block of Renfrew Street in Essex for a burglary in progress around 12:55 p.m. when the homeowner called 9-1-1 upon seeing the burglar inside on surveillance cameras. The homeowner received a “person detected” mobile alert from his interior surveillance cameras, then watched a live feed of the suspect walking around inside his home.

Officers surrounded the home and challenged the suspect as he attempted to escape through a window, but the suspect retreated back inside. Police initiated a barricade situation, summonsing additional resources to the scene, and attempted to communicate with the suspect without success. Just after 10 p.m. tactical officers made entry into the home, located the suspect hiding in the attic and made the apprehension.

The burglar is identified as Devante James Riley, 26, of the 1700 block of McKean Avenue, 21217. He is charged with First and Fourth Degree Burglary in this case, as well as being served a warrant for his arrest on charges of First, Third, and Fourth Degree Burglary and Theft in another Baltimore County case. He is held on no bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center following his initial court appearance last Friday

Man Injured in Rosedale Shooting

Investigators from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing their investigation into a weekend shooting in Rosedale.

Police were responding to the area of Hazelwood Avenue and Willann Road around 3:47 a.m. Saturday, April 6 for a call of shots fired when a patrol officer was flagged down near Philadelphia Road and Golden Ring Road by a driver taking the victim to the hospital.

The victim flagged down the driver while fleeing the area after suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. Medics responded and transported the victim, 29, to an area hospital where he is expected to recover.

Detectives continue working to confirm the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Violent Crimes Unit by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Police Connect Shooting on Sugarwood Circle to Walk-in Victim at Franklin Square Hospital

Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in the 1300 block of Sugarwood Circle, 21221 after the victim responded to MedStar Franklin Square Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

Essex officers initially answered a 9-1-1 call for shots fired around 12:41 a.m., then responded to the hospital after the victim, a 23-year-old man suffering at least one gunshot wound to the lower body, arrived at the emergency room around 12:52 a.m. Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit connected the two calls, and are still investigating to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Man Dies Days After Dundalk Shooting

The victim of a shooting in the 400 block of Avondale Road in Dundalk last Wednesday, March 27, has died.

Gerrard Eugene Taylor, 27, of the 5900 block of Winter Avenue, 21215, was pronounced deceased at 6:02 p.m. on Friday, March 29, after being removed from life support at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Police were dispatched to the area for a shooting just after 8 p.m. and found
Taylor lying unconscious in the alley behind Avondale Road following the shooting. He suffered at least one gunshot wound to the upper body and was transported to an area .

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything Wednesday night, or who may have information regarding this shooting or the suspect, to contact Homicide detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Two Eastern Tech Student Earn Scholarships

Two Eastern Tech student were among 10 Baltimore County Public Schools seniors have earned college scholarships from Magnet Schools of America.

Alexandra Joy Saquilayan and Elizabeth Wagner, both Engineering Careers at Eastern Technical High School will each receive $1,000, will graduate from a BCPS magnet program in 2019 and were selected on the basis of their high academic and personal achievement, leadership potential and contributions to their magnet program and community.

“From various competitions to projects to simple group work, the engineering careers magnet has introduced me to the world of engineering and encouraged my interest in studying chemical engineering as my college major,” said Wagner, who plans to study chemical engineering at the University of Maryland College Park.

Saquilayan is also headed to the University of Maryland College Park in the fall where she will study civil engineering.

“The engineering program at my school taught me to be confident in my abilities and to not be discouraged when plans don’t work out the first time or the second,” Saquilayan said.

Essex Man Killed in 702 Crash


Baltimore County Police are investigating a serious crash, involving multiple vehicles, that led to one fatality and left another injured.

Police responded on March 17, 2019, at just after 2 a.m., to a crash in the area of westbound Route 702, just west of the exit to southbound I-695. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a 2012 Acura RDX was traveling westbound when it left the edge of the roadway and traveled into the median. The vehicle then reentered the roadway, and eventually crossed over both lanes of westbound Route 702, before colliding with a guardrail.
The Acura RDX ultimately became disabled in the westbound travel lanes of Route 702.

A second vehicle, a 2013 Acura TL, struck debris that was in the road, as a result of the crash, and it also became disabled. A third vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Camry, then struck the resting Acura RDX as it was traveling along Route 702. Finally, a fourth vehicle, a 2014 Hyundai, also became involved when it struck the 2005 Toyota Camry.

The driver of the 2005 Toyota Camry was transported to a local area hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Acura RDX was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as Elbert Charles Johns 3rd, (32), of the 1400 block of Hadwick Drive of Essex.

This crash continues to be investigated by members of the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Team.

Arrest Made in Perry Hall Murder

Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of Taylor India Webb who was found dead in her vehicle in Perry Hall on Feb. 26

Christopher James Engles (19) of the unit block of Bellhurst Way, 21236, is charged with First Degree Murder and remains held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center following a bail review hearing earlier this afternoon.

Police determined that Engles is an ex-boyfriend of Taylor Webb, who she arranged to meet with just half of a mile from his home on Bellhurst Way. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Police have identified Taylor India Webb (20) as the woman shot to death in a vehicle on Hickory Falls Way in Perry Hall of the 4600 block of Marble Hall Road, 21239.

Officers were dispatched to the area for a call of gunshots heard around 11:58 p.m. on Feb. 26 and discovered the victim in the driver seat of her vehicle suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
