Police Release Suspect Photo from Dundalk Fire

Fire Took Place at Dundalk State Farm


Baltimore County Police need your help identifying the suspect who started a fire at a Dundalk business on Monday, Nov. 16, 2020 off Meritt Boulevard.
Just before 8:30 p.m., the suspect rode up to the front of the State Farm store, located in the 1700 block of Poplar Place in Dundalk on a dirt bike and parked.

He got off the dirt bike, threw a flammable device through the front window of the business and then drove away on the dirt bike.

The business was closed at the time and no one was injured. Images of the suspect, pictured above, were captured on nearby security video. The dirt bike appears to have silver tape and distinctive stickers or decals on the front of it.

Detectives from Baltimore County Police Department’s Arson Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Man Shot at Dundalk Apartment Complex


A man was injured after being shot during an apparent attempted robbery at a Dundalk apartment complex on Tuesday night.

The man, 49, was walking to an apartment in the 3000 block of Wallford Drive in Dundalk around 6:44 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, when he was approached by an unknown suspect who announced a robbery.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body as he attempted to escape into the apartment.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Dundalk Apartment Fire Reported on Holabird

Baltimore County Fire Department reported an apartment fire in the 6900 block of Holabird Avenue in Dundalk near Crafton Avenue.

The fire was reported on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Crews reported that the apartment is two floors and six people have been displaced.

There have been unconfirmed reports that a man and a woman were rescued from the second floor.

Dundalk Pedestrian Killed on North Point Blvd.


A pedestrian crossing North Point Boulevard in the Dundalk Precinct was killed on Saturday, Jan. 16 after being struck by a vehicle.

Just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Police responded to North Point Boulevard and Old Battle Grove Road in the North Point Village area of Dundalk for a pedestrian struck. Crash Team investigators determined that a 2007 Kia Forte was traveling southbound on North Point Boulevard approaching Old Battle Grove Road with a green traffic light. The Kia struck the pedestrian and remained at the scene.

The pedestrian, Andrea Rachele Yarish (48) of the 8100 block of Plaza Drive of Dundalk, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The driver of the Kia did not report any injuries.

The Baltimore County Crash Team continues the investigation.

Officer Crashes Into Dundalk Telephone Pole


A Baltimore County Police Officer traveled on North Point Road in Dundalk near Pinewood Road, in a marked patrol car when a vehicle made a left turn in front of the officer on Friday, Jan. 1 around 3 p.m.

The officer swerved to avoid striking the vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole. The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team continues the investigation and is asking anyone who may have information regarding this crash to contact police at 410-307-2020.  

Double Shooting Reported in Dundalk Area


Baltimore County Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred in the early hours Sunday, Dec. 20.

Just after midnight Sunday morning, officers responded to the 7400 block of Durwood Road in Dundalk to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival they located one adult man inside of a residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to an area hospital. Detectives were alerted of a second adult male victim who was also shot during this incident and was driven to the same area hospital. Both victims have life threatening injuries. Detectives believe this was a targeted attack and the investigation is on-going. Evidence from the crime scenes has determined the shootings were outside of the location and on the street.

Dundalk’s Wise Avenue Bridge to Receive Repairs

Expect delays the weeks of Dec. 21 & Jan. 11


The Wise Avenue Drawbridge over Bear Creek in Dundalk is scheduled for repairs in two stages:

Contractors will raise and lower the bridge next week for preliminary work from Monday through Wednesday (December 21-23). Traffic will be interrupted briefly on those days but the bridge will not be closed.

The bridge will then be closed in January for two weeks (January 11 – 22) to complete the work. The repairs are expected to reduce bridge noise, say engineers.

Dundalk Fire Reported on Sollers Point Rd


Baltimore County Fire Department reported a house fire in the
3500 block of Sollers Point Road.

Arriving crews at the location saw smoke coming from a 1 1/2 story house and fire on 1st floor. All occupants were reported out of the house on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3:17 p.m.

Fire was reported under control 3:35 p.m.
