Overlea’s run game and defense was on display as they shut out Patapsco 26-0 in flag football.
The visiting Falcons were led by Nylah Thomas’ 107 yards on the ground and quarterback Jayda Berkeley had 74 yards rushing. Both had two touchdowns each.
Patapsco had trouble moving the ball most of the day, but had some success in their first and last drives.
Patriot quarterback Jessalynn Teegarden had 96 rushing yards and threw for 50 passing yards.
Leah Moren, Khloe Schreiber and Ayauna Fowlkes caught passes from Teegarden but Patapsco couldn’t get on the board.
The Patriots drove deep into Overlea territory on the first possession but Overlea”s London Jackson broke up a key third-down pass in the first quarter.
Cir’e Glass pulled multiple flags late in the second half for Overlea and Patapsco punted four times on the afternoon.
Patapsco defender Ta’siah Johnson pulled a key flag to stop an Overlea drive late in the game.
Overlea improves to 1-1 and plays at Perry Hall. Patapsco falls to 0-2 and travels on the road to face Dundalk. Both games are Monday.
