Shooting Reported on Cornwall Road in Dundalk


Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the 2900 block of Cornwall Road in Dundalk, shortly after 12 a.m. on Sunday, July 18, in reference to a shooting that occurred. The victim suffered from injuries to his upper body.

At the time of the shooting, the 37-year-old victim was outside due to a power outage in the area.

Watermain Break Reported in Dundalk

The Baltimore County Emergency Management Twitter page reported a large watermain break in Dundalk at Ashwood Road and North Point Road near the corner of Drug City Pharmacy on Monday, July 19 before 1 p.m.

Baltimore County Police shut down a portion of Ashwood Road due to large amounts of water.

Motorists are asked to seek an alternate driving route.

Lighting Causes Parkville Apartment Fire

Baltimore County Emergency Crews had a busy day as a result of the strong storms in the area on Saturday, July 7.

Baltimore County Fire Department reported a two alarm condo fire in the 2200 block of Lowells Glen Road in Parkville.

The fire was reported through the roof. Crews evacuated tenants and pets. Everyone got out safely. No injuries were reported. The fire started before 3 p.m.

Investigators have confirmed this fire began with a lightning strike.

Tree Damages Two Essex Apartment Buildings


There have been multiple reports of damages from the storm throughout the day.

Another area that saw storm damage was Essex.

The Baltimore County Fire Department reported a tree heavily damaged the two apartment buildings in the 900 block of Garden Drive on Saturday afternoon.

Several families were displaced. No injuries were reported. Building engineers and the RedCross responded to the scene.

Chesaco Ave & Philadelphia Road Flooded

The Rosedale Volunteer Fire Company told motorists to avoid the area of Philadelphia Road and Chesaco Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Crews were on scene with major flooding.

Many low-lying areas are flooding around Baltimore County at this time so please be careful and do not enter any standing water.

Flooding Causing Major Issues on Pulaski Highway

Water rescued from car & propane leak at building on Pulaski

The Baltimore County Emergency Management Twitter page reports several water rescue calls along Pulaski Highway in the Rosedale area. Other roads on the east side of the county are also flooded.

The Baltimore County Volunteer Fireman’s Association reported that a vechile was trapped in floodwater and two people were rescued on Pulaski Highway near Contractor Road on Saturday around 4:15 p.m.

The Fireman’s Association also reported a propane leak at a building in the 7800 block of Pulaski Highway.

Motorists are being told to -AVOID Pulaski Highway and find another route.

There is a Flood Warning for most of Eastern Baltimore County until 6:30 p.m.

The County reminds motorists to not drive into high water on any roads.

If you see a flooded road, turn around!

Person trapped under Heavy Machinery in Kingsville


The Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company reported that crews are operating on the scene of a standard rescue in the 11800 Block of Cedar Lane in Kingsville.

Crews arrived with one patient trapped under heavy machinery. Extrication was made and patient was airlifted with life threatening injuries.

This rescue was reported on Thursday, July 15 around 2 p.m.

Two Men Arrested on Gun and Drug Charges in Rosedale

Maryland State Troopers announced two persons prohibited from possessing firearms were arrested on gun and drug charges during recent enforcement by a task force working along the border with Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

The first suspect is identified as Phillip J. Desmarais, 23, of Baltimore. He is charged with possession of a large amount of a controlled dangerous substance, wearing/carrying/transporting a handgun in a vehicle, transporting a loaded handgun, possession of a firearm and of ammunition while a prohibited person, possession of CDS not marijuana, obstructing/hindering an arrest and resisting arrest.

The second suspect is identified as David D. Genius, 23, of Baltimore, Md. He is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance not marijuana, possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle, possession of a handgun in a vehicle and possession of ammunition while a prohibited person.

On June 30, Maryland State Police Strike Force 7, a component of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, consisting of officers from the Maryland State Police, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Baltimore City Sheriff’s Office, Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Homeland Security Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration, worked with uniformed state troopers from the JFK, Golden Ring, and Frederick barracks along Pulaski Highway in the area of the Baltimore County and Baltimore City line.

During a traffic stop, a uniformed trooper saw a clear bag with gel caps containing suspected fentanyl. A subsequent search led to the recovery of a loaded handgun, drug packaging materials and counterfeit cash.

Troopers contacted the Maryland Gun Center and it was determined both suspects were prohibited from possessing firearms. Both were arrested and charged with the gun and drug-related crimes.

Both suspects were transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center for processing and to await an initial appearance before a court commissioner. Both have been held without bond.

This and other ongoing enforcement is supported by funding from the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth and Victim Services through the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN) initiative.

Vehicle Crashes into Sparrows Point House

The North Point Edgemere Volunteer Fire Company responded to an overnight vehicle crash into a house at the corner of Lincoln & Waldman avenues in Sparrows Point house.

A telephone pole was also heavily damaged and caused power loss to the immediate area.

Two patients were transported with non life threatening injuries to an area hospital.

There was no reported structural damage to the home and BGE responded for their repairs.

The accident took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 11.

Arrest Made After Essex Hit-and-Run


Police responded to the intersection of Eastern Boulevard & Old Eastern Avenue in Essex on Thursday, July 8 around 4:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a 2018 Yongfu moped failed to stop at a red traffic light and entered the intersection. The driver of a 2015 Ford Fusion struck the moped and left the scene without rendering aid.

The driver of the moped was transported to an area hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Officers located the Ford and placed the driver under arrest. Taijah Aremoni Pope, (23), of the 3700 block of White Pine Road was charged with failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Team continues to investigate this case.
