Police Involved Shooting in Rosedale


Baltimore County police reported a call for a suspect with a knife and blades this afternoon resulted in an officer-involved shooting that left one man injured.

Officers responded to the area of Philadelphia Road and Chesaco Avenue in Rosedale after a witness called 911 for an unknown suspect with a knife and blades cutting down branches on a tree, waving the blades around and throwing them in the roadway. While still enroute, officers received additional information that the suspect was in the middle of Philadelphia Road swinging around a long chain.

Officers located the suspect on Spring Avenue near Philadelphia Road. One officer exited his patrol vehicle and ordered the suspect to sit down. The suspect ignored commands and began running at the officer, who ordered the suspect to stop.

The officer began to move backwards but the suspect continued to advanced on him, at which time the officer fired his weapon, striking the suspect in the upper body. The suspect fled but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. 

Officers rendered aid to the suspect, who was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center by responding medics, conscious and alert.  

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was initially dropped off at a local hospital for a mental health evaluation but never went inside. He used public transportation to respond to the Rosedale area, where the witness observed him and called 9-1-1. Several weapons were recovered at the scene. The investigation into this incident is on-going.

Shooting Victim Found in Rosedale


Police responded to the unit block of Aspinwood Way in Rosedale on Oct. 3 at midnight for a subject who was shot.

Responding officers found the victim, an adult male, who was shot in the lower body while in the 9700 block of Pulaski Highway in Middle River earlier in the night.

Week of Dec. 4
Robbery at Rosedale Walgreens-A suspect pretended to make a purchase at the register at Walgreens in the 8600 block of Philadelphia Road. During the transaction, the suspect reached over the counter, shoved the clerk’s arm and grabbed cash from the register on Friday, Dec. 10 at 11:20 a.m. The suspect then fled.

Shots Fired at Overlea House-An unknown suspect exited a vehicle, walked up to the house in the 400 block of Walcott Road and fired multiple shots into the front of the home on Monday, Dec 7 at 3:41 a.m. None of the occupants in the home were injured.

Shed Burglary in Perry Hall-An unknown suspect(s) pried both doors of the victim’s shed in the 4400 block of Cross Brook Drive in Perry Hall and removed property on Friday, Dec. 4 at 10:00 p.m.

Golden Ring Middle School Vandalized-Sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 and 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, an unknown suspect(s) removed a window at Golden Ring Middle School in the 6700 block of Kenwood Avenue to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole various food items from the cafeteria and sprayed graffiti in the hallway of the school.
Week of Nov. 21
Kingsville Shed Burglary– Sometime between 5 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 9:35 a.m. on Dec. 2, an unknown suspect(s) broke into the victim’s shed in the 12100 block of Philadelphia Road in Kingsville and stole property.

Attempted Rosedale Shed Burglary- Two of the victim’s sheds were tampered with in the 9000 block of Philadelphia Road in Rosedale on Sunday, Nov. 29 around 8:34 a.m. No items were removed from the sheds.

Home Invasion Attempt in Perry Hall- At 5:50 p.m., the suspect attempted to gain entry into the residence in the 8900 block of Whitetail Court in Perry Hall through the back door and disabled the security camera on Saturday, Nov. 28 around 5:50 p.m. The suspect fled after the victim called 911 and was later apprehended and charged.

Pills & Cash Stolen in Rosedale-A victim was assaulted by two unknown suspects in the 800 block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale. The suspects took a bag containing cash and a pill bottle on Tuesday, Nov. 24 around 2:30 a.m. The suspects fled in a vehicle.

Robbery in Overlea– A victim was robbed on Saturday, Nov. 21 of multiple electronics by an unknown armed suspect(s) in the 4300 block of Kenwood Avenue in Overlea.

Carjacking in Overlea-A victim was stopped at the light in Overlea at the intersection of Belair Road and East Overlea Avenue when two unknown suspects approached the vehicle and struck the victim with a handgun. The suspects then took the victim’s vehicle and fled on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7:40 p.m.
Week of Nov. 14

Uber/Lyft Driver Carjacked- The suspect ordered a ridesharing service on Friday, Nov. 20 at 12:10 a.m. When the victim picked up the suspect, the suspect assaulted the victim to obtain control of the victim’s vehicle while driving in the 7500 block of Belair Road near Fullerton Avenue in Overlea. The suspect was arrested.

Macy’s Burglarized- On Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 a.m., three unknown suspects broke the glass doors to gain entry into Macy’s at White Marsh Mall in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard and removed clothing and accessories. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Robbery in Rosedale- An unknown suspect approached the victim’s vehicle in the 6300 block of Kenwood Avenue in Rosedale and demanded his property while holding an unknown object to his head on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 3:37 a.m. The suspect then fled from the location.

Attempted Robbery in Rosedale-A known suspect assaulted the victim in the 4700 block of Rasped Avenue in Overlea and then searched the victim’s pockets on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 4:30 p.m.

Royal Farms Robbery- An armed suspect entered the Royal Farms in the 8800 block of Philadelphia Road in Rossville and demanded the clerk hand over his personal cell phone and all the cash from the register. The suspect was arrested at the scene on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 11:44 p.m.

Kingsville Shed Burglarized –Sometime between Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. and on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. an unknown suspect entered an unlocked detached storage shed in the 11000 b lock of Old Landing Road in Kingsville and removed landscaping equipment.

Week of Sept. 25

Second Degree Burglary- Three unknown suspects cut and pried open the front door of Rosedale Discount Liquors in the 6400 block of Kenwood Avenue. The suspects unsuccessfully attempted to remove the ATM. A safe and two cash drawers were stolen on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 3:37 a.m.

Second Degree Burglary- On Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 1:10 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) cut through two latches on a storage container which is located on the victim’s property in the 1800 block of Woodruff Avenue. The suspect(s) stole three dirt bikes and an ATV from within.

Robbery-Two unknown suspects robbed two victims of their cash and drugs in the 1400 block of Cheaco Avenue in Rosedale and then fled in a vehicle on Monday, Sept. 28 at 4:55 a.m.

Second Degree Burglary-Between midnight on Aug. 27 and 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 27, an unknown suspect broke into a secured storage unit and stole multiple items in the 7800 block of Rossville Boulevard in Fullerton.

First Degree Assault-On Friday, Sept. 25 around 4 p.m., three unknown suspects assaulted the victim with an unknown object in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard near or at White Marsh Mall Victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

First Degree Burglary- An unknown suspect smashed a window at the victim’s residence to gain entry in the 4200 Block of Silver Spring Road in Perry Hall. Once inside, the suspect took cash from the victim’s wallet and then fled on Friday, Sept. 25 at 12:30 p.m.

Week of Sept. 19

Robbery- Three unknown suspects entered the 7-Eleven in the 6400 block of Golden Ring in Rosedale. The suspects went behind the counter, pulled out both register drawers and then fled on Sept. 21 around 10:36 p.m.


Robbery-
A victim was assaulted by several known and unknown suspects in the 6100 block of Radecke Avenue in Overlea. The suspects took the victim’s shoes and belt on Sept. 19 around 7:49 p.m.

First Degree Assault- Police reported that two known persons got into an argument on Sept. 19 around 7:49 p.m. and one was physically assaulted in the unit block of Maya Way in Rosedale.

Dundalk Pedestrian Dies in Rosedale Accident


Baltimore County Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian in Rosedale Friday night, then fled the scene.

Police are looking for the driver of a red 2011 Chevrolet Camaro that struck a woman on eastbound Pulaski Highway near Rosedale Avenue and continued to flee eastbound. The woman was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. She is identified as Angel Diamond Wingate (20) of the 900 block of Dalton Avenue in Dundalk.

The vehicle was later located abandoned with significant front end damage on I-695 at Route 702.

Now police need the public’s help in identifying and locating the driver of that red Camaro. Police would also like to speak with the drivers or occupants of a white Ford Mustang and a red Ford Mustang that were in the area of the crash at the time it occurred, and may have witnessed the incident.

This is the second pedestrian accident on Pulaski Highway in Rosedale in less than a week. Gabrielle Harmony Durham was killed Friday, Aug. 28 on Pulaski Highway.

Man Arrested After Stolen Car Crashes With Police


Officers arrested a carjacking suspect when he crashed into a Baltimore County Police patrol car minutes after stealing the vehicle Thursday afternoon.

Police were initially dispatched to the 9200 block of Oswald Way in Rosedale at 4:12 p.m. when the suspect ordered the victim out of his Chevrolet Equinox, then drove it away toward Philadelphia Road. The victim had just sat down in the driver seat when the suspect got into the vehicle through the rear passenger door and ordered the victim out. The victim was not injured in this incident.

Minutes later, at approximately 4:18 p.m., the suspect lost control of the Equinox as he turned onto Martin Boulevard from Transverse Avenue in Middle River. He struck the rear right area of an Essex Precinct marked patrol car stopped at the intersection, pushing the patrol unit into a Nissan Frontier.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The officer was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. No one in the Nissan was injured.

The identity of the suspect, a 37-year-old man, is withheld pending formal charges.

Pedestrian Killed on Pulaski Highway in Rosedale


Baltimore County Police are investigating a pedestrian-involved crash that occurred last Friday, August 28 at 9:28 p.m. in Rosedale.

Pedestrian Gabrielle Harmony Durham (31), of no fixed address, attempted to abruptly cross the 8200 block of Pulaski Highway when she was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound. Durham was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene.

Durham was transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma for treatment of life threatening injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on Monday, August 31.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal crash.

Suspects Charged in Shooting of 6-Year Old


Two arrests have been made in the shooting of a 6-year-old boy in Rosedale Sunday, Aug. 23.

Officers responded to the unit block of Capella Court in Rosedale around 7 a.m. when the boy suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body as he slept in his bed. Detectives determined that the gunshot came from the townhome next door when a woman fired a handgun into the wall while attempting to unload the weapon, belonging to her boyfriend.

Deyonna Nykeima Charles (29) of the unit block of Capella Court, 21237 is charged with second degree assault, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in a metropolitan area. She was released on her own recognizance following a bail review hearing on Tuesday

Corey Jarard Nash (28) of the 2300 block of Jefferson Street, 21205 is charged with possessing a firearm after a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition. He remains held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Sunday AM Shooting Reported in Rosedale


Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in Rosedale Sunday morning.

Police responded to a call of a shooting in the unit block of Capella Court, in Rosedale on Aug. 23 after 7 a.m.

Responding officers found a victim that sustained an injury to the lower body and was transported to a local hospital.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate this incident and ask anyone who may have additional information to call 410-307-2020.

Police Need Clues in Fatal Hit & Run Crash


Maryland State Police continue to search for the driver & vehicle responsible for the hit & run death of Amira Jennings, 17, one week ago on the interloop on I-695 between I-95 & Philadelphia Road.

Jennings and a friend were standing in front of their disabled car when they were struck.

Investigation indicates the suspect vehicle swerved around their car, disabled in the center lane with its flashers on, and struck both of the teenagers, who were standing in front of the car.

The driver fled the scene without stopping, but car parts left behind are being used to try to ID the vehicle.

It is believed to be a gray Infiniti, possibly a 2009-2015 G37, G25, or Q40.
