Man Shot on Pulaski Highway in Rosedale


Baltimore County police responded to the 8000 block of Pulaski Highway in Rosedale for a call of shots fired on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 9:30 p.m.

Responding officers were unable to locate a victim. Shortly afterward, an adult male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim is expected to survive.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call 410-307-2020.

Trash Room Fire Reported at Franklin Square Medical

Baltimore County Fire Department reported a fire at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center in the 9000 block of Franklin Square Drive Saturday afternoon.

Crews at the location reported a fire in a trash room on third floor at 3:09 p.m.

Fire has been extinguished and patients on unit have been sheltered in place. Crewe are working on ventilation of the facility at this time.

Arrest Made in Rosedale Teen Death in March


Two suspects have been charged in the March 7 shooting death of a 13-year-old boy on the parking lot of Kenwood Shopping Center.

Rodrick ONeil Bell (20) and Jeremiah Corneal Bell (16), both of the 5000 block of Walther Avenue, 21214 were arrested at their home early Thursday morning, Dec. 3.

Both are facing charges of first degree murder and five counts of attempted first degree murder. Jeremiah Bell is charged as an adult in these crimes.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit were able to determine that at 11:57 p.m., when a number of teens had exited ‘Triple Threat Elite’ dance studio, the suspects drove through the parking lot and began firing shots into the crowd, striking one adult and five juvenile victims, including Rickie Forehand (13) who died at the scene. Detectives are continuing to investigate to determine a motive for this shooting.

Both defendants remain held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on denied bail status. Anyone who may have additional information should contact police by calling 410-307-2020.

Edgemere Man Dies in Rosedale Accident


A multi-vehicle crash on Pulaski Highway in Rosedale killed an Edgemere man Sunday morning.

Just after 7 a.m. on Dec. 6, Baltimore County Police responded to Pulaski Highway at Rossville Boulevard in Rosedale for a multiple vehicle crash.

Police determined that the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder attempted to drive eastbound through the intersection between two vehicles stopped at a solid red light, striking the rear driver side of a Toyota Camry and side-swiping the passenger side of a Lexus, pushing the Lexus into a Nissan Altima, also stopped at the light.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, Charles Scott Himmelman (54) of the 2500 block of Maple Road in Edgemere was transported to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The drivers of the Pathfinder and Lexus suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The driver and a passenger of the Nissan Altima did not report any injuries.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene and is continuing their investigation into the circumstances and contributing factors of this fatal crash.

Rosedale VFC & Santa to Tour Community


The Rosedale Volunteer Fire Company has started its tour with Santa on the Fire Truck in the Rosedale/Overlea community. The tour started last Monday and a schedule has been released until Saturday, Dec. 12. Rosedale VFC released the statement on its Facebook page last week about the event.

“To the Rosedale community, we are beginning to bring Santa around to the community, please pay careful attention to the posted routes on the maps for the streets we will be coming down. If we are not coming down your street we ask that you come to an intersection that we pass through if you would like to see Santa,” said the Rosedale VFC.

“Please take note of the time and effort that goes into bringing Santa to the community, while also selling Christmas trees. We are still providing emergency coverage to the community and will make our best effort to keep Santa traveling along his route.
Don’t be a Grinch we are doing the best we can.”

Man Shot in Rosedale Monday Night


Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in Rosedale Monday night that left one man injured.

Officers responded to a call for a shooting just before 9:30 p.m. on November 23, where they located the victim outside of the townhomes in the unit block of Breslin Court in Rosedale.

The victim, an adult man, was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He is expected to survive his injuries. The suspect(s) left the scene prior to police arrival.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit are still investigating the motive for this crime. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call 410-307-2020.

Rosedale Man Dies in Perry Hall Shooting


Baltimore County Police are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday, Nov. 5 around 9:20 p.m.

Officers arrived in the parking lot of the 4300 block of Bedrock Circle in Perry Hall and located Teon Deontae Barnes (21) of the 8000 block of Neighbors Avenue of Rosedale suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Barnes was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Homicide detectives are actively conducting their investigation at this time and believe the victim was targeted. If you have any information about this murder, please call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.

Second Suspect Arrested in July Rosedale Murder


On September 30, Lateef Amir Maple (32) of the 1100 block of Myrtle Avenue, 21201 was the first suspect arrested in connection with the July 28 murder of Trevor Hamlet.

As a part of the on-going investigation, Baltimore County Homicide detectives were able to identify Donwin Rumeal Brooks (30) of the 2200 block of Linden Avenue in Baltimore City as being the second suspect. On October 21, Brooks was arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Trevor Hamlet.

Maple and Brooks are charged with first-degree murder and various other charges. Maple remains held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status. Brooks is held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail review hearing. 

Person Extricated from Vehicle in Rosedale Crash


Baltimore County Fire Department reported a two-vehicle accident overnight in Rosedale at the intersection of Pulaski Highway & 66 Street near the County/City line.

Crews reported one patient was extricated from vehicle and transported to hospital with life threatening injuries on Sunday morning around 7 a.m.

Dundalk Man Charged in Rosedale Incident


A warrant has been issued in connection with yesterday’s assault in Rosedale.
Michael Fink, 36, from the 7200 block of Holabird Avenue in Dundalk has been charged with one count of second degree assault on a warrant.

He is currently in Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in stable condition.  

Police recovered two knives, a silver chain and a can of pepper spray from the crime scene. The investigation is on-going.  

The officer involved is Police Officer First Class B. Brown #6211 with 2 years, 2 months of service in the Operations Bureau.

He is currently on administrative leave per policy. An internal investigation is also being conducted.
