School Lunches Added to Fontana Village Community Center


The Fontana Village Community Center in Rosedale been added to the list of distribution locations for the Baltimore County Public Schools’ Mobile Meal Program, effective today Monday, May 11.

At all sites, Baltimore County Public Schools students will receive a breakfast, lunch, and snack on Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday, students will receive two breakfasts, two lunches, and two snacks for Thursday and Friday. Meals are no longer distributed on Friday.

Meals will be distributed from the following 67 locations. While students are encouraged to be present when picking up meals, accommodations will be made for students who are unable to be present. Please note the specific distribution times for each location

Arrest Reportedly Made of Robber Around Perry Hall High School


Baltimore County Police have reportedly made an arrest after multiple incidents of the robbery of students near Perry Hall High School. Councilman David Marks reported the arrest on social media.

“I can confirm that an individual has been arrested in connection with the four thefts in the vicinity of Perry Hall High School. The Baltimore County Police Department will release more details,” Marks said.

The first reported armed robbery took place on Nov. 12 around 3:30 p.m. at the Perry Hall High school basketball courts. According to police, an unknown suspect implied he had a gun and robbed two students of their iPhones and iWatches.

Police reported other incidents took place on Nov. 4 and again on Jan. 28. In both cases, the suspect approached female students and demanded their cellphones. One victim chased the suspect, but she stopped when the suspect implied he had a gun and would shoot her. There was a report of another robbery of a female high school student on Friday night.

In some cases, the suspect was reported running in a wooded area near Parlo Road.

Rosedale Center to host Chopped Challenge


The Rosedale Center’s student council organization will host a Chopped Challenge this Friday, Nov. 8 from 9 to 10:10 a.m. at the Rosedale Center, 7090 Golden Ring Road, Suite 103.

Students will be given a list of ingredients and must work together to make the best dish. The list of ingredients is highly confidential, but each group will be given a protein, vegetable, fruit, grain, and a special ingredient. The dishes will be judged by an assistant principal, cafeteria staff and Jay Rohlfing, executive chef of Cunningham’s and a 2019 Chopped Champion.

Each quarter, the student council hosts one team activity to bring students and staff together.

Rosedale is an alternative education center serving middle and high school students from the central, northeast, and southeast areas of Baltimore County. Rosedale offers specialized education, small learning environments, and student support services.

Van Crashes into Church in Middle River


Baltimore County Fire County Department reported a motor vehicle crash in the 18000-block of Eastern Avenue in Middle River. According to reports a van crashed into a church in the area Tuesaday afternoon.

There was a report of a person was trapped. That person was rescued and transported with non life threatening injuries.

Officer Lyon Named Parkville Officer of the Month


Officer Lyon was named Parkville Precinct Officer of the Month for September for recovering a vehicle reported stolen by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina.

Police reported that the driver was arrested after a routine check of the Maryland temporary tag indicated it was being fraudulently displayed. According to police, the driver’s license was also revoked.

State Police Arrest Man After I-695 Pursuit in Parkville

Maryland State Police arrested a man following a pursuit that started on Interstate 695 and ended in a nearby shopping center this morning in Baltimore County.

The suspect, Don Trey Busship Lee George, 23, of Baltimore, was arrested and is charged with providing a false name, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, driving on a suspended license and driving without a license. He was taken to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack for processing.

Shortly after 7:40 a.m., a trooper from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack initiated a traffic stop on a green Buick passenger car on the outer loop of I-695 at Perring Parkway in Parkville, Maryland. The suspect driver, later identified as George, provided the trooper a false name. As the trooper re-approached the vehicle, George drove off onto the ramp of Perring Parkway. Once on Perring Parkway the driver exited the vehicle and ran off to the rear of the Perring Plaza shopping center.

Troopers, an Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal unit and several Baltimore County units responded to the area. Investigators said the suspect was soon located on the rear roof of one of the buildings of the shopping center.

According to investigators, George jumped off the roof and began to flee. The suspect was apprehended a short time later. A deputy state fire marshal was transported by ambulance to GBMC for treatment of injuries suffered in the pursuit.

Town Hall Meeting to Discuss PH Middle Overcrowding Relief

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks and Baltimore County Board of Education Member Julie Henn will hold a town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 2 to discuss next steps in building the new northeast area (Nottingham) middle school.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 6 p.m. at the Perry Hall Family Worship Center located at 5125 East Joppa Road.

Councilman Marks and Board Member Henn will answer questions about next steps in the school construction process and how communities can advocate for legislation to provide state school construction funding. The Build to Learn Act, which would have provided such funding, failed to pass the General Assembly this year.

Student Charged in Assault on a Loch Raven High School Teacher


Baltimore County Police have charged an 18-year-old student in the assault of a teacher in school on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Additional police were called to Loch Raven High School in Towson around 8:38 a.m. when teachers and the school resource officer struggled to restrain the student, identified as Geronimo Pacer Harding Jr of the 8600 block of Willow Oak Road in Parkville after he began punching a teacher in the face.

Harding was speaking with the teacher, who was seated at his desk in his classroom, and became agitated. He then suddenly began punching the teacher in the face, knocking him onto the ground, where he continued to strike the teacher in the face and torso.

The teacher initially declined medical treatment but was later treated at an area hospital for serious facial wounds. Harding was taken into custody and initially transported to an area hospital, then later charged with the assault. He faces both First and Second Degree Assault and other school related charges. He is presently held on denied bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing.

Elderly Woman Robbed at ATM in Perry Hall, Suspect’s Identity Sought


Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a robbery suspect who threatened an elderly woman with a knife at an ATM in Perry Hall. This man (pictured) approached a 71-year-old woman who was at the ATM outside of Wells Fargo Bank at 8851 Belair Road around noon on Dec. 9. He held a knife to her back and demanded she take money out of the ATM, but instead she began screaming for help.

The suspect fled on foot toward Verdel Road where he got into a dark colored SUV type vehicle and left the area.

Detectives from the White Marsh Precinct are now asking for the public’s help to identify this suspect, described as approximately 6 feet tall, thin, and around 20 years of age.
