Twice is nice according to a Baltimore County woman. The Dundalk resident revealed two $10,000 amounts on her $1,000 Loaded scratch-off, winning one of the game’s second-tier $20,000 prizes.
The lucky lady told Lottery officials that an earlier win on the $1,000 Loaded ticket had made the game a favorite. So, when she visited a local convenience store last weekend, the $10 scratch-off was an easy choice. She bought two and scratched them when she returned home.
After scratching her winning numbers on the top of the ticket, she slowly revealed a $10,000 prize.
“I saw the first two numbers and got excited for a $10 win, but the number just kept going,” said the winner. “When I revealed the full $10,000 prize, I thought I must not be seeing this right,” she said.
She rushed through the house to share the excitement of the win, waking her sleeping spouse.
While showing the $10,000 prize to her spouse, she scratched off the remainder of the ticket. Luck struck again while doing so, revealing another $10,000 prize on her ticket.
“I just about had a heart attack,” she said.
The rest of the evening was a sleepless night of excitement. The lucky winner said she plans to use some of the prize to pay down debt, get some new wardrobe for her kids and help her family.
The $1,000 Loaded instant ticket went on sale in May, featuring thousands of prizes from $10 to $20,000 and eight $100,000 top prizes. As of Sept. 29, there are three unclaimed $100,000 top prizes remaining, along with four more $20,000 prizes.
The winning ticket was sold at the Wise Avenue BP located at 7801 Wise Avenue in Dundalk.
