Woodlawn Apartment Fire Sends Person to Hospital

An apartment fire in Woodlawn sent a male to the hospital with critical injuries.

Firefighters responded to the 3400 block of Aurora Lane at 1:05 a.m. on Sept. 12 for a report of fire in an apartment. They found smoke coming from the front entrance.

During search efforts, crews located an adult male near the entrance to an apartment. Fire crews rescued him from the apartment, and EMS provided medical care. EMS transported him to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second person was evaluated by EMS on scene but not transported to a hospital.

Fire investigators with the Baltimore County Police Department determined the cause to be accidental, due to unattended cooking. The fire displaced two residents.
