Kenwood Dominates Perry Hall in 46-0 Win

Kenwood’s Nukama Korkpan makes a catch to set up a Kenwood TD. He would score his own TD after a punt block.
Kenwood improved to 2-0 on the season after the Derrick Krumholtz coached team destroyed Perry Hall 46-0. The Bluebirds were led by two defensive touchdowns, a special teams TD and senior Quarterback Adam Harter, who ran for two touchdowns and threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Daylon Duncan.

The Bluebirds jumped out to a 24-0 lead as senior running back Terrance Brown broke off a 30-yard TD run on Kenwood’s last possession before the half. Kenwood scored four touchdowns in the first half, but did not convert a PAT and or two-point conversion.

It appeared that Perry Hall was going to cut into the deficit before the half as Quarterback Jailen Knight marched the team downfield near the Kenwood endzone. Knight threw an apparent 19-yard TD pass to Justin Peacock, but the play was called back on a penalty and the Gators did not score before the half or the rest of the game.

Kenwood improved to 2-0 on the young season.

Bluebird senior Quarterback Adam Harter scored three TDs.

Kenwood put the game away in the second half when Bluebird sophomore running back Troy Dukes came into the game fresh and had 49 rushing yards on his first five carries. Then Harter took advantage of a tired defense after Dukes’ runs and he added a 25-yard TD run.

The Bluebird’s defense and special teams scored two touchdowns on Perry Hall’s fourth down attempts in the second half. Nukama Korkpan scored after a punt block and Duncan added a defensive TD on an interception return on a fourth down stop.
The Bluebird defense was led by Linebacker Blake Krause’s two sacks and he had a 15-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the first half.

Kenwood will try to go 3-0 next week against Harford Tech at home. The Bluebirds defeated North East 28-6 last week to open the season. The Gators fell to 0-2 after losing to Edgewood in Week One. Perry Hall plays at Towson next week.
