Flood Watches & Wind Advisories/Warnings Scheduled for Friday


While major coastal/tidal flooding will be the main story with this system, US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington reports flood watches & wind advisories/warnings have also been issued in other portions of the area.

The NWS said this has the potential to be the greatest tidal flood since in the area Isabel in 2003. High tides are expected to be the highest levels between Friday mid-day and Saturday morning.

This could result in impassable roads and sidewalks.

Police Monitoring Sex Offenders on Halloween


Baltimore County Police will be keeping an eye on sex offenders who are not allowed to have contact with children this Halloween.

Only about 10 percent of registered sex offender in Baltimore County have what is called a “no contact order” as part of their probation. This, in effect, prohibits them from handing out candy to children on Halloween. Registered sex offenders that are not under such an order are not prohibited from giving candy out to children.

Officers in marked vehicles and undercover officers in unmarked vehicles will be monitoring the homes of registered sex offenders who have been identified by the Division of Parole and Probation as having no-contact restrictions with children, in conjunction with Parole and Probation agents.

Anyone who suspects that someone who has a no contact order is offering candy to children is asked to contact the Sex Offender Registration Team at 410-853-3660. Any other suspicious activity can be reported to 911 or Baltimore County’s non-emergency line at 410-887-2222.

Harford County Man Killed by Car in White Marsh


Baltimore County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 20, just after 4:30 p.m. in the 8200 block of Town Center Drive in White Marsh.

The pedestrian, Jeffrey Chmielewski of Brookwood Drive, of Harford County, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, Oct., 21 after being struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu as he attempted to cross the road; he was not in a crosswalk.

The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is continuing its investigation to determine the factors involved in this fatal crash.

Dundalk Precinct Names Officer Pizza Officer of the Month


Officer M. Pizza has been named Dundalk Officer of the Month.

According to Baltimore County Police, Pizza initiated three separate on-view events that resulted in the seizure of CDS and other contraband.

In one of those events, he initiated a vehicle stop for an inoperable brake light.

That stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 20 grams of marijuana, a felonious amount of crack cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, paraphernalia, a scale and approximately 160 shells of small caliber ammunition.

BCPS to Honor Officer Caprio With Playground


Fallen Officer Amy Caprio will be honored with a playground at Gunpowder Elementary School on Saturday, October 23, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the school, 9540 Holiday Manor Road in Perry Hall.

A host of county and state elected and educational leaders, including BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams and Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, will participate in the ribbon-cutting for a new Unity Playground to honor the life and service of Ofc. Amy Caprio, who was killed in the line of duty in Perry Hall in May 2018.

The ceremony will include remarks from Williams and Olszewski as well as from Makeda Scott, chair of the Board of Education of Baltimore County; state Sen. Kathy Klausmeier, Police Chief Melissa Hyatt, Baltimore County Councilman David Marks, and family members and friends of Officer Caprio’s.

The event also will feature the Perry Hall High School Chamber Choir and a medley from Police Emerald Society piper Lt. Robert McCurdy (ret.) of the Baltimore County Fire Department. The community is invited, and children will be invited to engage in a “First Play” on the equipment to end the ceremony.

The rain date for this event is Saturday, October 30.

Eastern Tech Evacuated Tuesday Morning

Baltimore County crews were on the scene at Eastern Tech High School at 1100 Mace Avenue in Essex on Tuesday morning.

Crews were investigating odor of natural gas inside of the school on Oct, 19 at 9:25 a.m. School was evacuated at that time.

BGE was called to the scene to investigate a malfunctioning natural gas line.

Gas leak was listed secured and building deemed safe around 10:04 a.m.. Staff and students reentered the school at that time.

Fire crews have cleared the scene. No injuries reported.

Dundalk Man Dies in Holabird Ave. Motorcycle Crash


Marco Tulio Lemus Osorio, 26, of the 3100 block of Walford Drive in Dundalk has died after being involved in a motorcycle accident in Dundalk Friday afternoon.

Osorio was driving a 2009 Kawaski motorcycle westbound on Holabird Ave approaching Brookview Road on Friday at 4 p.m.

As a 2019 Ram pick-up truck was making a right turn onto Brookview Road, Osorio tried to pass the pick-up truck on the right and collided with the vehicle.
Osorio was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries; where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding this crash.

Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in Hawthorne


Baltimore County homicide detectives are investigating an Essex fatal shooting that occurred on Oct. 16, just before 1:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the area of Midthorn Road and Whitethorn Way in Hawthorne for a report of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Dimarco Johnson suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.

Medics transported Johnson to a local hospital where he later died. Although this may have been a targeted attack, the circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation. No one has been charged in connection to this case.

Baltimore County Detectives are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous.

Garage Fire Reported in Edgemere

The North Point Edgemere Volunteer Fire Company reported fire crews responded to a garage fire in Edgemere on Thursday, Oct. 14 around 4 p.m.

Units arrived to the scene in the 7300 block of Waldman Avenue to find a two- car garage fully involved.

There was no reported injuries.

Fuel Leak Reported in Middle River


Baltimore County Hazmat crews are on the scene of a large fuel spill in Middle River on Wednesday night.

It was reported a tanker truck leaked 350 to 500 gallons of diesel fuel at the corner of Pulaski Highway and Middle River Road after 6 p.m.

Fuel was leaking into storm drain. MDE has been called to the location.

Storm drain has been secured. Two lanes on Route 40 are still closed.
